Maybe this summer this will be the first time you rent a car while traveling… maybe you have experience with car rental but you are usually so excited to be arriving at the destination you forget the importance of doing Some small checks.
So here is a reminder of things to remember when renting a car while traveling.
Examine the car carefully
Always take the time to properly examine the car’s body and inside. You would not want the vehicle to be assigned a break that you are in no way responsible for. If you find items (e.g. scratch, spot on seats) Make sure the attendant clearly insert it into the rental file.
Check the spare tire and the recordings
Ask to see the spare tire. You never know when we’ll need it! It will allow you to know where it is but also to verify that it is in good condition. The same thing for record documents, you will find them if necessary.
Watch out for the key
Last tip that will you seem possibly ridiculous: check the key of the rented car! Insurance contracts (associated with a credit card or included in the rental fee) generally have the same clause: any problem that results from loss, theft or breakage of the key is usually not covered. You should know that in case of breakage or loss, the rental company will normally ask you to pay the replacement frames. Have you ever paid to have your car key replaced? If so, you know that with the new smart keys it can be very expensive to replace it. So not only pay attention to your keys!!! (They love the water!!) But when you take possession of the car, make sure that the key does not appear to be damaged and that it responds well (ex: Unlocking The Doors).
